Consider/Approve Recommendations from Textbook Adoption Committee

Background Information:

The Obion County Textbook Adoption Committees (K–3 committee and 4–6 committee) being duly appointed by the Board at its October 2012 meeting and having met all requirements of the State, have completed their adoption process for grades K – 6 reading textbooks and make the following recommendations as set forth on the attached documents:

Reading Grades K – 3 Adoption
Reading Grades 4 – 6 Adoption

These textbooks are recommended for a six-year cycle beginning with the 2013 – 2014 school year. The System must file a Certification of Adoption by the Local Board of Education with the State Department of Education prior to April 15, 2013.

Staff Recommendation:

Based on this Committee’s recommendations, I recommend adoption of the above-noted textbooks for a six-year cycle beginning with the 2013 – 2014 school year.
